Prayer times, exact
Fajr to Isha for your spot — a full year, cached offline.
From each adhan, Deeny gently shields your most distracting apps with your phone's built-in controls — and keeps them locked until you swear you've prayed and log it. Accurate prayer times, a wake-for-Fajr alarm, and an honest tally, all on your phone. No guilt. Only a gentle return.

Deeny is a private prayer companion (salah tracker) for iPhone and Android that locks your most distracting apps from each adhan until you pray — with accurate prayer times, a wake-for-Fajr alarm, a Qibla compass, and an on-device tally.
Beautiful, minimal design that puts your prayers first.

Daily prayers, one tap each
Return, stay, and go deeper — five times a day.
Fajr to Isha for your spot — a full year, cached offline.
An alarm you can't dismiss half-asleep. Prove you're up.
One clean needle to the Kaaba. Nothing else.

From each adhan, your phone's built-in controls seal your distractions — until you swear, by Allah, that you've prayed.
Set a سكون window and your chosen apps stay shut for the whole stretch — no early exit. The Qur'an and Qibla stay open.
Tap as you pray and watch the day fill in. A no-shame streak forgives the hard days.
إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَـٰبًا مَّوْقُوتًا
Indeed, the prayer has been decreed upon the believers at specified times.

We built Deeny as a tool of worship, not a business model. Your prayer log, your streaks, and the apps you choose to lock all stay on your device — no accounts, no ad networks, no profiles. Only your coordinates leave, to fetch your prayer times.

Our privacy commitment: no account, no ads, no advertising ID (IDFA), no cross-app tracking.
Most prayer apps are free because you're not the customer — advertisers are. Here's the pattern, documented and now regulated:
The chain you never see
In 2020, a Motherboard investigation documented one widely-used prayer app, Muslim Pro, carrying an ad SDK that sent granular location data to the data broker X-Mode — which separately sold location data to clients that included U.S. military contractors.1
Their response: Muslim Pro called the reports “incorrect and untrue,” said the data it shared with partners was anonymized, and cut ties with X-Mode.2
A 2021 report documented another prayer app, Salaat First, whose integration sent users' location data to the broker Predicio — a link its developer confirmed on the record — where it entered a supply chain connected to a U.S. government contractor.3
Their response: The developer said he expected the data to be anonymized for ads and ended the arrangement in December 2020.3
In 2021, 18 members of the U.S. House of Representatives asked the Defense Department and the Director of National Intelligence to investigate reports that the U.S. military purchased location data harvested from apps used by Muslims.5
In January 2024, the FTC reached its first settlement barring a data broker — X-Mode and its successor Outlogic — from selling sensitive location data that could reveal visits to clinics, places of worship, and shelters. The order names the broker, not any prayer app, and was settled by consent with no admission of wrongdoing.4
None of this needed a data breach — it's simply how the ad-funded model works. Deeny is committed to the opposite: no ads, no data brokers, no account — by policy, nothing about you to sell.
Deeny computes a full year of times from your approximate, city-level location using established calculation methods — Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, and more. Pick the method your local mosque follows under Settings → Prayer times.
Yes. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no trackers. Your prayer log and streaks stay on your device; only your approximate coordinates leave, to fetch your prayer times.
A self-imposed focus tool, part of Deeny Pro. You choose which of your own apps to lock; from each adhan they stay blocked until you confirm — with a short oath — that you've prayed. Your choice of apps stays on your device.
Deeny is free to start. Deeny Pro is a subscription — monthly or a discounted 6-month plan — and the exact price for your region is always shown in the app before you confirm. Cancel anytime in your app store's subscription settings (Apple ID on iPhone, Google Play on Android).
Everything lives on your device — deleting the Deeny app removes it all. There's no account and no copy of your data on our servers.
