Our Commitment

At Deeny, we believe your worship should remain between you and Allah. This policy says, in plain words, what Deeny (the “App”, “we”, “us”) does with your information.

The Short Version

  • Your prayer journal, your streaks and your worship log stay on your device.
  • No name, no email, no password. Deeny signs you in anonymously.
  • No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
  • What we keep on our servers is small, and we delete photos and usage events automatically.

What Stays on Your Device

  • Your prayer journal, streaks and Qiyam reckoning.
  • Your Fajr alarm and reminder settings.
  • The apps you choose to lock with Salah Focus. Deeny cannot see which apps they are.
  • Your advanced-worship (Istiqāma) log and any menstruation (ḥayḍ) dates you record.

What We Keep on Our Servers

Our database is in the European Union.

  • An anonymous profile: your setup answers (such as brother or sister, and your hardest prayer), your city and approximate location, a few app settings, your notification token and whether you have Deeny Pro. It helps us run Deeny and improve it.
  • Usage events, only if you agree: which screens you open and which prayers you mark on time, late or missed. You can change your answer in Settings › Privacy, and turning it off deletes them. We delete them after 90 days.
  • Your Fajr photo: the photo you take to stop the Fajr alarm is sent to our server and checked by an AI model (Google Gemini, through OpenRouter). The AI provider is asked not to store it. We delete photos after 30 days.

Who Helps Us Run Deeny

  • Apple and Google: the app stores and your purchase (Apple, Google).
  • RevenueCat: your Deeny Pro subscription. It gets your anonymous id and your purchase, never your name or email (RevenueCat).
  • Supabase: our servers (Supabase).
  • Aladhan: prayer times, from your approximate location (Aladhan).
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google):delivers notifications. It gets your device's notification token (Firebase).
  • OpenRouter and Google Gemini: the Fajr photo check (OpenRouter).

Permissions

Deeny asks for a permission only when a feature needs it. You can change each one at any time in your device's Settings.

  • Location: prayer times and the Qibla.
  • Notifications: prayer reminders and the Fajr alarm.
  • Camera: the Fajr photo.
  • Alarms: so the Fajr alarm can ring through Silent mode.
  • App-blocking access: Salah Focus, which locks the apps you choose until you have prayed.

Your Choices

  • Delete the app to remove everything that is on your device.
  • Turn usage events off in Settings › Privacy.
  • To get a copy of your data, or to have it deleted, email us at deenytracker@gmail.com, or write from Settings › Send feedback: that message carries your anonymous ids, so we can find your data.
  • Manage or cancel Deeny Pro in your app store's subscription settings.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU or UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data. To use any of them, email us at deenytracker@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

Deeny is suitable for users of all ages and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Changes are posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
